Before accepting sports editor duties in October of 2008, provided multiple centerpieces and columns weekly plus a seven-days-a-week "Albee Alley," a daily 250-word blog of the Bay Area pro and college sports scene. Also, worked as a sports assignment editor laying out pages while supervising and editing staff covering prep sports. Lead writer for columns, features and game stories covering Bay Area pro and college teams including A's, Giants, Warriors, Sharks and Earthquakes. Covered professional championship events in: golf and tennis and junior college and high school football, basketball, and swimming. Traveling beat writer with A's, Giants, 49ers, Cal and Stanford in the 1990s.

Managed sports staff, edited copy and handled design and layout. Wrote about all high school sports in two conferences. Frequently covered Denver Broncos, Nuggets and the NHL's Colorado Rockies home games. Additionally, wrote features and game stories on University of Colorado and Colorado State University football and basketball games.

PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS

Experience in covering numerous World Series, including Boston Red Sox home games in 2004 and 2007, and MLB playoffs. Covered BCS national championship game at Rose Bowl in 2006 and Super Bowls XX, XXI, XXII, XXIV and XXIX. In addition, covered 49ers playoff games in Chicago, Dallas, Green Bay and Atlanta. Traveled with  Stanford to the 2000 Rose Bowl, the 1986 Gator Bowl and several NCAA men's basketball tournaments, including the Final Four in San Antonio in 1998.
